Yes sure. But the problem with KYC started with the internet. Before you had no reason to need something like that because people that commerce with you are physacly present

True for KYC but money laundring existed way before internet.
In a way you are right, it's like these people showing the price of things in bitcoins since 2009, of courde when bitcoin had no reconized value, value 0, you need infinite bitcoins to buy a candy, kind of silly.
And the peak startet BB (before bitcoin) so i would guess it has more to do with monetary expansion then bitcoin.
