Essentially, it's the only logical explanation for the Fermi paradox that I find convincing. Additionally, there's an observable tendency in nature to create more complex subsystems that emulate aspects of their original system in order to navigate it. That’s a simulation. Perhaps the image of my wife that I create in my mind is wondering about the nature of its existence, too, until I stop dreaming it up?
