I would like a more detailed explanation regarding the relationship between Bitcoin and Zakat. Last year, when the earthquake occurred in Herat, I made a donation in Bitcoin, but was there any issue with that?

Bitcoin, like most assets and all monetary devices, is subject to Zakat. Put in mind, I'm no expert here, but if Zakat is given on gold and fiat, then Bitcoin must be similar. Your intention here is important as to what part is subject what is not.

If your intention is to acquire Bitcoin as a Store of Value, then, in my opinion, it is subject to 2.5% annually exactly like gold and silver. It can be given in fiat or bitcoin directly.

If, in another scenario, you're a trader, then it gets a bit complicated as you would need to include the fiat you have set aside for trading as well. However, it's still subject to 2.5% annually.
