The composition feels an odd to me because the bird is looking to the right and positioned far right on the page. Usually a subject looks ā€œinto the frameā€ so right-looking bird is on the left. Unless you have something behind the bird that are making a point about to the view as part of the illustration’s story, like a cat peaking through bushes.

The hard line is a cool design element. I think you could make it stronger next time if there was a parallel hard line under the bird; so not watercolor all the way down. Have a bit of the paper showing on the bottom left as you have in the large area for the top right.
