EULA for Nostr
This End-User License Agreement (EULA) is a legal agreement between you (the "End-User") and the Nostr project (the "Licensor"). This EULA governs your use of the Nostr software (the "Software") and related documentation (the "Documentation"). By installing, copying, or otherwise using the Software, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA. If you do not agree to the terms of this EULA, you may not install, copy, or use the Software.
Definitions
1.1. "Nostr" refers to the Nostr protocol, the Nostr software, and any related documentation, updates, or improvements thereto.
1.2. "Licensor" refers to the Nostr project, its developers, and any other entity responsible for the creation, maintenance, or distribution of Nostr.
1.3. "End-User" refers to any individual or entity that installs, copies, or uses the Software.
1.4. "Software" refers to the Nostr software, including but not limited to the Nostr client, server, and any related tools or libraries.
1.5. "Documentation" refers to any written, graphic, or structured documentation, instructions, or guidelines provided by the Licensor for the use of the Software.
License Grant
2.1. Subject to the terms and conditions of this EULA, the Licensor grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install, copy, and use the Software and Documentation for your personal, non-commercial use.
2.2. You may not distribute, sell, rent, or otherwise make the Software or Documentation available to any third party without the prior written consent of the Licensor.
2.3. You may not modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the Software or Documentation without the prior written consent of the Licensor.
2.4. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code of the Software, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law.
Restrictions
3.1. You may not use the Software or Documentation for any commercial purpose, including but not limited to operating a business, providing services to others, or generating revenue.
3.2. You may not use the Software or Documentation in a manner that violates any applicable laws or regulations, including but not limited to privacy, data protection, or security laws.
3.3. You may not use the Software or Documentation in a manner that infringes the intellectual property rights of the Licensor or any third party.
3.4. You may not use the Software or Documentation in a manner that is abusive, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
Term and Termination
4.1. This EULA is effective until terminated. You may terminate this EULA at any time by uninstalling the Software and ceasing all use of the Software and Documentation.
4.2. The Licensor may terminate this EULA at any time by providing you with written notice, including but not limited to by email or through the Software.
4.3. Upon termination, you must uninstall the Software and cease all use of the Software and Documentation.
4.4. Sections 2, 3, 4, and 5 of this EULA shall survive any termination of this EULA.
Disclaimer of Warranty and Limitation of Liability
5.1. The Software and Documentation are provided "AS IS" and without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
5.2. In no event shall the Licensor be liable for any direct, indirect, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or other financial loss, arising out of or in connection with the use of the Software or Documentation.
5.3. The foregoing disclaimer of warranty and limitation of liability applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Governing Law and Venue
6.1. This EULA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
6.2. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or in connection with this EULA shall be resolved by the courts of [Jurisdiction].
Miscellaneous
7.1. This EULA constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the use of the Software and Documentation.
7.2. The Licensor may update or revise this EULA from time to time, and the most current version will be available on the Nostr website.
7.3. Your continued use of the Software and Documentation after any update or revision to this EULA constitutes your acceptance of the updated or revised EULA.
7.4. If any provision of this EULA is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect and will be construed as if the invalid or unenforceable provision had not been included.
7.5. The headings in this EULA are for convenience only and shall not affect the construction or interpretation of this EULA.
7.6. This EULA may only be amended or modified in writing, signed by both parties.
