Should we have a group to expose scammers here on nostr, or doing in our timeline it’s ok?
I’m not comfortable to expose anyone directly in my feed but scammers are growing here and they are sending dms!
We must expose them so they go back to the bird app.
What you think about it?
I just muted a person pushing Pepesomething…would that be enough? Suggestions on muting protocols perhaps?
There are more off them, I’m not talking that’s specific case 😅
But wouldn’t it be nice if my “mute” alerted my followers if it was rationalized…maybe the mute button has a selection?
I dunno…just throwing up thoughts… I do know tho that I’ve been on the other side of restriction and censorship…and it’s a very fine line (imo) to straddle…
Im saying put them on full blast, who cares. They earned it.

I think the best approach is to post about the mechanism of the scam and innoculate people against entire classes of scams rather than individual scammers/scams.
But you could always use screen shots etc as examples.
I’m seeing very little of that here. With lightning baked into experience, most shitcoin value proposition narratives are dead on arrival.
I stand corrected. I saw this shortly after replying to you. This is a new approach, instead of an affinity scam on #Bitcoin it’s an affinity scam on meme coins. They are in in for the lolz, not to make money. They are not holding any of their coin. 🤣

I think you can ‘report’ them and you can call them out if you want to. What’s your concern with using your feed for it?
I don’t like to judge someone like that, I’m not comfortable with that.
I do my part, warning people to be aware of what’s happening.
Hmm, I guess I’m not detecting a distinction between “I’m judging someone” and “I am warning others of this person”. Seems like if you want to alert others that this person is a risk, there is an implicit judgement that the person is conducting business in a way that you would like to protect your friends and family from. (No judgement from me, but you should avoid doing business with this person). 🤷♂️ IMO your fine to use your network to get your opinions out. But if your not comfortable then that’s fine I guess but that will limit who you can alert to the risk.
