I think people are instinctively scared to join #nostr

I think they feel like entering a free speech zone is an act of war

I think they feel like if they can't be banned, they will get themselves in trouble and maybe end up silenced by force

I don't hear people saying any of this stuff, but I think it's a major factor in nostr's slowness

I gave a talk to a group of about 150 farmers about technology. I brought up Nostr and I was flooded with questions about “but what if people put up bad things…” it was really bizarre how much people wanted to know if it was safe… your point is well taken.

This might mean nostr would start taking off quickly when we develop it to the point where people can take a quick look at it and figure out how to safely & easily use it
