Once I sold a domain name for $10K. Of course I spent it immediately. Bitcoin didn’t exist yet and I needed the cash to move to a better place. I could have raked in so much money back then if I had just kept up with it.

hindsight 20/20. we’ve all been there 🧘🏻‍♂️

Onward and upward 😅

$10k wow

I bought one for a business I had for $2.5k which I no longer use lol

The crazy part is the dude who bought it never used the domain. That was so long ago you could just register any word you wanted as a dot-com for free and Internic would send you a paper invoice in the mail a week or two later. You had 90 days to pay it or they’d take it back. I had like 50 invoices sitting on my desk and whenever I sold a domain I’d pay the registration fee and transfer it to the buyer.

Domain flipping was my first foray in to entrepreneurship! I was too late to make good money but I was profitable for the 8-9 months I did it as a side gig. £500 was my best

Seeing that someone sold the domain business.com for $7.5 dollars in 1999 activated the circuits that led me to discover bitcoin earlier than most of my friends.

💯💜

Saylor was in early on domain collecting too. Hodled them since early 2000s I think. It’s why he owns michael.com

And hope.com 🤣 That one blew me away

By the time I got in all 5-letter .coms were gone.

Saylor was SUPER early
