My plan today is to get my friend to download Phoenix or Breez if he doesn't feel too overwhelmed by writing down another seed aside from his on chain wallet. To get him away from WoS
I really like Phoenix, and have only briefly played with Breez.
Which would be recommended? He's on IOS.

What's wrong with WoS?
I still use it as an intermediary and for the few I've onboarded. And for myself when I'm withdrawing from certain apps that don't always work with Phoenix.
But I don't want to leave it at that.
I'd rather keep nudging them to understanding the pitfalls of custody vs. trust and third parties.
I feel Phoenix offers more control, and an easier segway to understanding lightning vs. on chain, rather than just accepting WoS is their lightning wallet. And still not having that differentiation between layer 1 and 2.
Once you realize this can be sent to any application interoperable with the network, your limitations gradually get lifted.
