I have a hard time hanging out with normies because they don't understand Bitcoin.

When I hang with Bitcoiners, I don't really wanna talk about Bitcoin.

The big difference is that when you don't understand Bitcoin, you're missing a huge piece for everything else you talk about so it's harder for me to take your opinions seriously.

Many such cases

When you care about people, you want them to understand BTC. When they don't, there's a tiny amount of pending anxiety.

With bitcoiners, thats gone. So you can just hike off and touch grass together.

There's this little itch

It's impossible to scratch

That Normies come with

#haiku

Exactly.

I agree. It's as frustrating as trying to watch someone solve a puzzle you know the solution to. And what's worse is that they won't believe the solution if they heard it.

I have the same problem with people who do not understand anthropology. Until one comprehends anthropology properly, it is challenging to truly understand humans. It is crucial to appreciate anthropology first before examining anything else. Otherwise, you risk developing an incorrect view of the world and making poor decisions.

I enjoy hanging out with normies, nothing they talk about ever matters.

It's mostly just gossiping about other people.

It's a nice little distraction from all the problems of the world

That's hard for me

Makes you want to retreat to the mountains and hang with bitcoiners here. ✊

Find the people with a low time preference. Chances are they are not 🌽 people.

Yesterday was the first social event that I’ve been to where I consciously decided not to talk specifically about Bitcoin to anyone. I did however talk about three things that were listened to attentively by a few people, without having them immediately turn their brains off by hearing the B word.

1) the fact that our purchasing power, savings and prices have largely been negatively impacted by virtue of the fact that 40% of our money supply has come into existence in the past 5 years and severely diluted us

2) the fact that 60-80% of real estate price increases over the past 4 decades have been a result of debasement of our dollar, not legitimate asset appreciation

3) the fact that as a savings vehicle, dollars are a melting ice cube

Since it was not a public event, just our good friends’ immediate families mostly, I did however have on one of my company T-shirts that has a small ₿ logo and the company name on it. I never wear that shit out in public.

I had the epiphany that what we really need to do in order to allow people to come to their own conclusions is make them fully understand the problem, and it’s cause. Not try to cram the solution, that we already know, down their throats. I never spoke the word “Bitcoin” once all night. But I did see some lights come on.

Seems I can’t zap you right now but I’ll try later. Bookmarked your post. 👊🏽

Great point. When you’re among other bitcoiners, you’re among kindred spirits. Often no need to talk specifically about bitcoin, as we have mostly heard it all already. It’s just nice to hang with frens on the same wavelength

I like both types of my friends. And as for the normies - all you can do is lead by example. Maybe it’s that I’m probably much older than you - I’m just going to enjoy them while I have them. (Or they have me 🙂)

Ye… when you start hearing people talking about left and right I disconnect

I understand what you mean, but there are exceptions. For example, my yacht broker and I are both Bitcoin enthusiasts, but we always have a lot to talk about. He is not just a broker, but also a good friend of mine. We often chat about Bitcoin on the used MoonOcean yacht he introduced to me. https://www.yachttrading.com/used-yachts-for-sale/brand-moonocean/ Now this yacht has become our chat base, haha.

🤣

This is one of those universal concepts that more should appreciate!!!

It’s the exact same feeling long term, proof of work in the field, scientists have hanging with normies as they spout their “sciency” nonsense.

People need to stay humble…..
