I agree— the world needs pastors with your outlook!

For me, understanding emotions is one reason why I read poetry— the best poems help us glimpse the paradox of a moment or experience. But mostly— I read because I love language.

I’ve always found the term “emotional intelligence” fascinating. How smart are these creatures we call emotions— some dominate while others lay dormant, some are influenced by our body chemistry, some by genetics perhaps…

I remember reading Gary Zukav years ago & he said to imagine emotions as water under a bridge… flowing

That’s a great image of emotions flowing like water. I’ve recently had conversations about Somatic Abolition and society’s need to deal with racialized trauma. Soon on my reading list “My Grandmother’s Hands” to learn more
