My whole house smells like a sewer and it's giving me a headache. I was up all night trying to find the least stinky room to sleep in. I can't open the windows because it's too hot. I can't leave because I'm waiting for the plumber. 😩

You could make yourself a DIY box fan filter. Put in one room, it might improve the smell quite a bit.

Maybe one of your drain traps went dry? Try running some water through all of your drains.
the plumber couldn't find any problems except that our cleanout cap was not glued on properly, so he glued it on. it's been that way for years
that was a few hours ago. it seems to be getting better! i'll wait til tomorrow before i declare victory but wtf ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i can still smell it but way less and only in one room. i think maybe i have a leaky plumbing seal but the cleanout cap was somehow causing the sewer gas to get pushed out through my AC vents
if plumbing is anything like programming the worst problems are when there are multiple issues interacting with each other
