but then won't non-etf bitcoin become even more scarce and be valued for p2p transactions outside the system? my point being that all that really does is constrains liquidity for real bitcoin...

A hard fork does not "delete" the BTC on any of the forks. Blackrock will continue to have their pseudo-BTC forked tokens AND their real BTC.
