This is something I've been seeing for a while and it's inch by inch happening to all the major platforms and websites. The walls are coming up all across the internet and everyone is turning their open spaces into silos.

While this is an infuriating development, a key based social protocol and a push based global payment network fueling an open source, collaborative ecosystem has a *massive* natural advantage in an environment that is increasingly closed and permissioned.

We (#Bitcoin, #nostr, #lightning, #holepunch, etc) may only be 1% of 1% of a corner of the internet, but the pressures that will prove the value of our model are getting greater every day.

Keep building and stay the course.

It's almost as if popular closed platforms keep advertising Bitcoin and Nostr for us. People don't understand why they need freedom tools, but they'll see it sooner than later as these platforms tighten their grasps on their users.

Yep same as with Bitcoin and the fiat hegemony. Nostr only needs to exist as an alternative and the centralized platforms will do the work of telling people why they need Nostr.

Hopefully that is true but most of us know that the vast majority of people prefer comfort, safety, and the “norm” to freedom. Looking back prior to my awakening in 2020 I was one of those people. Thought I was a free individual but was really just doing well inside it the system that is the illusion of freedom.

I do think that a lot of people had my experience in 2020 and it is this group that will seek solutions that Bitcoin, Nostr, and open protocols provide. Just need to get to a tipping point and the masses will pretend like they were there the whole time.
