Native Segwit vs legacy Segwit can I send one to the other ?

Ie.. I have Bitcoin one wallet that's native and another in legacy...

If I wanted to consolidate to one could I do that ?

Im pretty sure the answer is yes - all the soft forks are backwards compatible. Hope someone else can give you a more definitive answer before you move coins.

As long as the wallet software supports both

Yes it says they are backwards compatible.. at least from everything I'm reading.

yes you can, if they are completely seperate you most likely will need 2 transactions to do it though (send one to the other and then consolidate)

Okay because is one truly better than the other or is it mostly speculation or preference?

So send the funds to let's say Native Segwit ( now I only have them in 1 wallet ) then I can send to the final wallet ie. Cold storage and they will all be Native Segwit ( I'll choose that option in the cold storage)

Sound about right ?
