#asknostr if you have a "free" energy source, (imagine you have a generaror on a waterfall) and you get 100 kw. How much hashrate can you get with that? And how much btc?

It is just a mental experiment so I am looking for a bulk numer to understand the magnitudes. (Is it 5 or 0'5 btc?) Not looking for accuracy

And if you have 200 kw, is the outcome also x2?

Interesting thought experiment. I’m a bit of a noob, so I don’t want to point you in the wrong direction.

Assuming no need for cooling ie other, I would expect it to be power (100 kW) / hash rate (i.e. 20 J/THs). With these parameters I’d think it would be ~ 5 PHs for 100 kW.

This tool converts to USD, but might give you some perspective on the potential on the bitcoin side.
