If you knew my friend, it was very unexpected. The point about Joe’s inner monologue bordering on ASMR is very true and I hadn’t realized that until you pointed it out.

This talk reminds me of a friend who can't get enough of true crime podcasts and characters like Joe, despite having abuse and trauma from her past. I too pointed this out to her "One would expect someone w/ your past to avoid these kind of things, not seek out." She was like "I know, right?" lol. Even her friend choices are shady/manipulative characters. Though she definitely has some unresolved issues, which might be the reason why.
