We can scream “CIA imposed regime change” or “US wants Venezuelan oil” all we want. But all my Venezuelan friends are stoked a 26-year dictatorship is over.

If the same thing happened in Turkey, I’d still be happy Erdogan was ousted.

After decades of tyranny and cultural decay, oppressed citizens will rather roll the dice again even if it comes externally as a global power play.

Dude my friend was saying the same shit saying Biden should put sanctions on Turkiye.

Idk about Venezuelans but if the US did either sanctions or military invasion to oust Erdoğan, he would rise to 80% approval, and the entire country would glaze him and hate the US more. They would literally unite against the west even while starving. The economy is shit but it can get much much worse and that will be blamed on the US, not on Erdoğan.

US-Turkey relations are too deep for them direct involvement on a regime change or sanctions. We need İmamoğlu rescued, he’s the best option we currently have

Why do you have any faith in İmamoğlu being a good faith actor? Even if he was, he's just a "trust the west" liberal loser. And considering the corrupt apparatus he is a part of, it wouldn't take long before they start robbing the country blind just the same.

If I was a betting man, he’d be less corrupt than Erdogan
