i almost never share the photos i take with my fuji camera. i take them, i look at them, and then i hide them away.

i’m not a photographer.

not even close. just a beginner who loves catching little moments.

i don’t know if it’s fear.

or just me telling myself they’re not good enough.

the truth is, i want to share them. but that little voice of self-doubt always sneaks in.

but nostr feels different though.

safer.

here i don’t feel the need to hide as much, and maybe someone out there might connect with what i create.

so yeah… i have a little site where i put up the ones i like most.

The feeling that you can't share on more popular platforms, I think people get to be more of themselves here than on other platforms.

We have a tendency to want to fit in. So on Instagram for example, influencers set the tone for what we should be like. On Nostr, everyone here is forward sharing and we just get raw notes, not just news and "only interesting to everyone" content.

Even as a nym here, people don't focus on that, we aren't pressured to fit in, we just take the content as it is.

I think there is something to that whole "we behave differently when we think we are being watched".

More specifically, when we know that we are building a permanent record of ourselves online.

On Nostr, we could fuck up but then we just walk away. We probably won't, but we could. Create a new profile and start again. No one knew who I was anyway.

thank you! i think you’re right. there’s something freeing about how people share here. it’s not so much about curating a perfect image, it’s just raw notes and small thoughts. like there’s no pressure of «performing» like on instagram for example.

i like how you put it - «we can just fuck up but then we can just walk away», and just start over again. that’s how it should be
