“Trust the Process!”

The phrase of this trip was “trust the process.” My friend and I embarked on a 4 hour river run through the narrows on our paddleboards.

We parked a vehicle at the starting point and end point. Once we left, there was no turning back unless we strongly and quickly paddled upstream against the current.

She was very hesitant and skeptical getting frustrated at times but I encouraged her to keep going and to trust the process. I lead the way navigating where the river was the deepest, which way to take and I suggested we remove the fins from under our boards since in some spots early on we came to a standstill due to how shallow it was in some areas and that solved the problem. The current was stronger in some spots but I told her to find her calm and trust the process.

Around the bends we were surrounded by tranquil and gorgeous views that you couldn’t help but admire!

Sometimes in life we have to do just that; trust the process!! There is often beauty coming around the corner! ☺️

Lilly picking eh? Looks like an amazing trip kinda jelly

I couldn’t resist!! I want to find another one. It was fun not knowing what was coming next. I had created two pins of the starting and end points and checked in time to time to see how far we had travelled and offered some positive encouragement to my friend. She had said “I’m not used to this.” I replied back “stick with me and you will be!” 🤣

I have not traveled enough on open water since moving to the great lakes. I will as i get older. Theres so much adventure waiting here. Good on you pushing your friend

Please do!! There’s so much to see and enjoy. This year I removed the limitation I had with a kayak by picking up a paddleboard to literally take anywhere I want to go.

Thanks! She said she’s glad she did it and doesn’t need to do it again. Meanwhile I’m thinking… “we’re just getting started!” 🤭

I have a 17ft cruiser canoe i have had it on the local creek, the Detroit river & almost tipped it soloing on Huron. I am trying to easy the family into it, my daughter loved kayaking on Huron

I’m not a fan of canoes myself. I’ve had this fear of flipping and one year a friend and I were splashing each other with the paddles trying to get the attention of guys on shore.. well we certainly got the attention as we flipped the canoe, the fire department was called and I was stuck swimming back with her canoe. It was a fibreglass canoe with a hole in a seat that took on water too.

I don’t feel that way in a kayak though.

That’s great that your daughter likes to join you with the kayak. I’d look into the Wilderness Systems Pungo 125 for the famjam. It’s the kayak I have and it’s very stable. Previously I had tried a sea kayak which is narrower and not as stable but meant for speed. I much enjoy my Pungo.

Looks beautiful! It’s good you’re wearing those protective shoes. I injured my foot pretty bad paddle boarding a week and a half ago and it’s still sore. Had to jump off into some shallow water with big jagged rocks. It’s so much fun though!

Ouch!! Yes those shoes can be a lifesaver. I needed to carry the board in one section and stand in a few spots that had jagged slippery rocks. They also helped when I needed to do a little rescuing and help my friend out.

Sounds like you know what you’re doing! 🫡

I figured things out! 😊

OBING THESE SUP BOARD VIDEOS AND PHOTOS.... KEEP IT UP 💪🏼

OBING?! Care to explain what this means? 🤣

OMG fail 😮😳

" OMG " IS WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ... HAHAHA 🤣😂
