Can anyone tell me the impact of Bitaxe, or is it minimal?

How many units have been sold?

Does anyone have that metric?

Are you serious

500GHs / 1.2 ZHs =0.00000000041666666666

so one bit axe produces 0.000000041% ofthre total hashrate

25'000'000 bitaxes can produce 1% of total hashrate

Bitaxes sold is probably somewhere in the 1'000 to 10'000 range.

It’s not easy to get a figure because the hardware is open source and multiple companies make and sell them. But https://web.public-pool.io shows over 14k Bitaxes plus various other derivatives.

https://pool.powermining.io shows nearly 800 Bitaxes.

Some people run their own public-pool instance on their node as well, so would not be visible on these public pools.

So let's say ~25'000

that would be about 0.0001%

I suspect it’s more than that, but regardless, it’s still a drop in the bucket.

nostr:npub1vwf2mytkyk22x2gcmr9d7ktprakh6llwpzxqlke8rlv5j0qyx2esf2lxtw might have more of an idea about total sales. Does that ever come up in the OMSU townhall meetings?

OSMU*

From my last calls with a couple manufacturers it’s safe to assume that upwards of 75.000 devices have been manufactured.

No one can track them so an exact number is hard to tell.

The impact might be small rn but will become bigger in the future, at least that’s what I hope
