“Innocent until proven guilty” in your context is incorrect.

Deportation is civil, and the burden switches to the immigrant to prove their right to remain in the US.

And my * for not paying taxes. Yes immigrants pay eleventy billion in taxes, I’ve heard all the claims. But the tax burden on a number of illegals is *significantly less* than the same number of law-abiding citizens. They don’t pay 100% of what they owe , and a large number don’t pay any.

If this is truly civil with no burden of proof on the government then you just poofed away the rights of every citizen with that legal opinion. You can simply assert they aren't citizens, non citizens aren't promised any contact with the outside world while detained to acquire proof of citizenship, deport.

With that reasoning there is no purpose for most of our laws or legal opinions, the government is free to do anything they want to any person at any time.
