There has been an amazing acceleration of nostr apps that are not social media, such as podcasting and highlighting articles.
The younger people of today simply do not know any better, and the dysfunctional, toxic world of social media is akin to someone suffering an abusive relationship...they might think it is normal, and no other options exist.
At this point, the best thing to do is follow the leaders on this platform, and spread the world.
