Thanks for sharing! I'm always looking for new podcasts.

I’ve been listening to John for a couple of years now. It’s one of my favorite ag podcasts.

Your welcome. It's one of the best podcasts in this sort of space,, lots to go back and learn from too if you have just found it. There is one about honeycrisp apples that's really interesting to show just how nuanced the needs of a particular fruit variety can get.

This IA a great podcast. I really enjoy listening to it.

This was a good one. Have to listen to it twice.

Yeah me too 😂 tried to clip it on fountain but the mobile reception seems to screw up my efforts. Lots of interesting points in this one especially about the fungal bacteria ratio which I always felt was correct but it's great to have someone as knowledgeable as him confirm it.

I can’t remember if it was this episode or another podcast that illustrated to what degree that fungi and plants are completely colonized by bacteria.

We know so little about what’s actually occurring in these systems.

Yes! The more we learn the less we seem to know 😂. It's why this entire area is quite so interesting.

Can't wait to get a microscope!

Thanks for sharing. I listened to this podcast about a year ago on my friends phone on a road trip. I did not remember to follow it on fountain.

We should get him to claim his podcast on fountain. Though is it possible to orange pill the Amish? 🤷

Well is is past Amish and runs the company so I would say possibly

Worth a shot I suppose.

How can anyone measure such a thing

Can't say for certain but I would be something like this:

You have a tiny amount of radioactive isotope not found in nature insert it into the fungi and have devices dotted along the fungal network to measure where it pops up. Persumably it involves a lot of highly accurate synchronisated clocks too!

Comes tooth mushroom on poplar wood

Great photo Nick, don't see that one round here so much, but being an ecto fungi it's going to be associating with trees generally associated with the highlands predominantly pines and other conifers etc

I live in Pennsylvania and I’ve found it on oak as well seems an easy one to grow

Yeah oak associates with ecto and poplar is an oddball that does both endo and ecto fungi so this is all making sense. I will have to see if I can find near an old oak near me.

I have a picture of it on my other phone I was surprised by it also I found a turkey tale that was 150 lbs in the same area it’s the biggest I’ve ever seen also on a old growth oak

That's great hope you find an agaricon so you can send it to Paul Stamets!
