Good grief, about 30 minutes ago somebody tried to mug me at knife point. Luckily I was paying attention and identified the threat with enough time to react. Stay alert and stay safe out there friends!

Jesus. What did you do?
Thankfully he presented the knife fairly early, leaving me enough decision space. I did a 180ยฐ and sprinted away. Excellent motivation to keep staying alert and keep maintaining the physical fitness
Glad to know youโre safe. Where did you get trained?
Of all training, Iโve found the school of hard knocks is the best teacher ๐
Damn. Glad youre ok. I should start running again lol
Iโm going to use this as a salient motivator for my own training. Plus, heart disease and other sedentary-linked illnesses are major killer so multiple birds with one stone haha! Sprints and interval work will be a heavy emphasis in the near future ๐
I once did a rubber knife drill with a buddy of mine. We're both trained martial artists. 3rd party judging. No running away, you must defend the attack.
Neither of us was able to make it more than 10 seconds without getting cut. We couldn't make it 30 seconds before the first wound that was bad enough you'd die if they wanted to kill you and no one intervened.
You were right to run away.
Wow! Glad you came out okay
oh my goodness glad you're safe
I carry so really curious what your reaction was
Good on you! If more people carried some of these problems would solve themselves ๐
Due to circumstances I was not able to be carrying at the time but I was on high alert due to where I was and once I saw him acting shifty I vacated the area expediently
If I had been involved in a use of force event, even fully lawful and justified, I wouldnโt be making public comment until I had a chance to discuss with my legal counsel ๐
I do thank my Nostr friends for hearing me out on a bit of an adrenaline dump earlier ๐ค
Great point! ๐ glad you are safe!!!
I'm glad you are OK.
In college, a friend and I were returning to the dorm late at night. When we got out of the car and started walking down the sidewalk towards the dorm. Right after we walked past one car, a guy got out and started walking behind us, faster than we were walking. I would hear walking steps, then running steps, then walking steps. I started walking ahead of my friend, so my talking to her caused me to look behind me to keep an eye on the guy. As soon as I did that, he quit the running steps. I told my friend we should walk faster because it was cold, but the guy was still gaining on us. I then suggested we walk across the lawn to get to the door faster, when we cut off the sidewalk, so did the guy behind us. Now I was getting scared, but didn't want to overreact. I saw a guy, way ahead of us, going into the dorm, so I yelled out, "Hold the door". This caused the guy at the dorm, to stop and stare at us. As soon as that happened, the guy behind us slowed down and he never entered the dorm. When I told my friend what had happened, she was clueless, but realized we had been in danger. I don't know what that guy was intending to do, but I am sure he was up to no good.
