California is dotted with places that are big and influential and small but consequential. For example,

head up the coast from San Francisco and you’ll eventually arrive at the epicenter of rural backwaters…Mendocino, a nineteenth century lumber town that reluctantly began welcoming counterculture pioneers in the late twentieth century. Mendocino is a place where you can live simply, where you don’t need to lock your doors, where you have access to thousands of acres of wildland and where you can enjoy the natural world while respecting its inherent risks - - get lost on a forest trail and die from hyperthermia. Get too close to the ocean and be washed away by a rogue wave. - - It’s a place to escape to while the world rages around you with seismic change. https://video.nostr.build/4c83a53c21afdf3fc86b4b562387b89e4b5710b4f35e66ce26e8df895e4f2dc8.mp4

You’re doing a great job selling it. Is there BLM land close, or is it mostly state parks?

There’s several state parks and also Jackson State Forest + thousands of acres of privately owned forests managed by Mendo Redwood Co.

And if you’re in town, don’t forget to ask businesses if they accept bitcoin!
