Housing, taxes, gas and typically paid a lower salary than the rest of Canada (depending on industry). Food is similar to most parts of Canada.

Thanks for replying. I will keep you busy with questions. So is housing and taxes higher there than other parts of Canada? Wages vary here in the states too. Tend to be higher on the coasts and lower in the south and central. But housing and food prices tend to be lower there too.
Yes, Vancouver has one of the highest costs of housing in the world. Income taxes are higher, property taxes are higher, sales taxes are higher, and taxes on energy are higher.
And then the really kick is that in most industries the pay is 15-30% less. We make 30% more in the province we live in vs. living in BC.
I don’t get how that is possible. It’s on the coast, so I can see why housing is higher. California is higher too. But the pay makes no sense. Don’t get why people don’t move.
