- links and QR codes (for inviting friends) MUST land on a web based client, and installing a native client will ALWAYS be more steps for the end user.

- The UX for customizable invites and network discovery of recommended clients, relays, follows, and other stuff should REALLY be a polished flow. Most social clients will not have such a polished flow as a dedicated onboarding client, or at least a “plug and play” wizard that can be added to their own client.

- the most important feature for social onboarding is immediate and private communication between the invited and their advocate inviter. This can be as simple as implementing gift-wrapped direct messaging in the onboard client itself.

nostrmeet.me fulfills all of these needs. it is a “dedicated onboard client” because, despite the hurdle of having “yet another client”, exactly this kind of client IS what is needed for social onboarding.

I think all clients should aim for a polished onboarding flow. I also think if you share an invite to your favorite client, it should go to that client and not a dedicated onboarding one. I’ve publicly disagreed with njump usage while everyone supported it. I think onboarding clients just create more friction.

Now, if the onboarding client also happens to be a damn good daily usage one, then by all means recommend that to people.

I’m happy to be proven wrong. I don’t control anything and client devs are free to do their own marketing to prove their point. I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong if it works well.

I agree 100% Karnage, if you have a friend you think would be interested, show them the client you enjoy and they can choose from there, and clients should strive to make signing up for Nostr easy, but if they don't want to that's their decision too. But having a designated sign up doesn't make any sense to me at all.

Yeah. And I don’t understand why I’m being singled out for not agreeing with ManiMe… I’m a nobody, if you don’t like my opinion just ignore me.

For real, like what are you the owner of Nostr? 🤣

No. I’m the official nobody. Says so in my profile.

I single you out cause it’s fun to see Kitty Kat chase shiny. 🥳 … and to keep the convo going cause it’s important.

Now my perspective has changed (not a lot… but some) because of your input. Thank you.
