I don't care that this is a hyper consumerist, marketing holiday made up by the Chinese to celebrate unmarried people. the fact that 11/11 is a day to celebrate single people is quite clever.

oh yeah. its a made up anti-Valentine's day.

I'm guessing China was getting jealous of us having Black Friday so they wanted to make a shopping holiday on par.
