You have to be fairly intelligent to successfully hide the truth from yourself the way many do. Intelligence isn't the problem, most people just suffer from extreme mental cowardice.

Seeing that the institutions on which you rely actually aim to do you harm is scary, but you can't save yourself or anyone you care about by denying it.
