It's good to see so many Bitcoin (and Nostr) conferences popping up all over the world.

Like-minded people loves to get together. But it's getting to the point where one has to wonder what do these conferences talk about?

After organizing one of our own last month, we became painfully aware that the topics on stage will pretty much like everywhere else. That leads me to think that we have reach another stage in Bitcoin related events history. Conferences and get together used to be sparse, there were only one or two big conferences each year, it's like a big get together, that one day of the year where you can enjoy being a bitcoiner without reserve.

But with so many conference in almost every month, conferences will have to start to specialize, to cater to their own unique audiences and conference go where we have to pick and choose which one they want to attend. For me personally, we will be focusing on our local Bitcoin community, local businesses, and on the future of Thailand in regards to Bitcoin.

I want to hear your thoughts. What do you guys think? 🧐

I too wonder but then again I haven’t been to one. At least corporate Conference seem more like up sell opportunities than anything else.

Agreed with local community, businesses, and the future of Bitcoin in Thailand
.

Wanna see more topics about..

- Philosophy behind Bitcoin

- Principle , living with the low time preference

- Fiat (education, science, food, etc.)

Bitcoin Conference used to be a big and rare thing like World Cup or Olmypics. Now it's almost everywhere, every month, and starting to lose its value and excitement.

I think for Thailand, can be 2 or more things:

1) Focusing on more inclusive small-scaled event like Right Shift x Presents Lightning Foodfest.

2) Holding a big event like the first one with a more unique theme and unique vibes. Things like that Lightning market vibe that people enjoy browsing, shopping, mingling, holding their own mini stage, etc. (There's no any other Bitcoin Con having anything like this I guess.)

And what's inside the main hall could be carefully, locally curated panels like..

- Local bitcoin businesses discussion (A lot of cool stuff yet to be told from businesses like Toffee Cake Chonburi, OASIS, BOB Space, etc.)

- Community contributors discussion (I could imagine something like Fiat Talk by หมอเอก, or How to build community by Jakk Goodday.)

- & of course 90 minites uncensored Chit Talk

That's just my quick thought.

I think specialization is good but some repeats is expected because the audience is different

But for conferences like in south east asia it needs some kind of specialization - or maybe in the future we just do south east asia week where everyone is hopping from one country to another country, since we are very close

Hey, I'm really digging this "Asia week" concept, it's intriguing.

You know, I've been thinking, instead of picking and choosing artists within the same genre, why don't we just listen to them all? They each bring something unique to the table with their different genres. 😉

We could allocate more time and weight them accordingly. I mean, our Asia should have its own narrative to share, right? What's your take on this?

Yeah and then we can do a different style

Lets say

Thailand will be focus on workshop

Indo is focusing on festival/party style

Nice

That's actually a great idea.
