All id ask is to pay attention to who is trying to change what already works and is trying to take control of bitcoin core.

OP_RETURN is based on a code that marks the outgoing transaction as invalid and can therefore be used to save data without having to send the bitcoins to random addresses (a method used in other forms of storage).

That was more serious in the short term but allowing the “bitcoin core” devs take control is a big deal.
I initially wasn’t worried about this at all but you have to ask yourself, why are they pushing so hard to allow spam on-chain?
