We thought it would be terribly bad, but they mostly papered over it with fresh money, mortgage refinancing and welfare payments.

The prepper scene really got going, then, and Bitcoin got started and we bought silver coins and planted potatoes...

and then nothing really happened.

There was no BOOM effect, just a slow slide into complacency and €7 döner kebap.

I was deployed for most of the worst of that time... So I don't really know how it was for people back in the US. But I heave heard many people talk about how awful that time was... 🤷‍♂️
