Change my mind : Having #bitcoin in a Blackrock ETF is the same thing as having fiat in JPM.

Might be worse because it gives you the impression you have something you don’t have

Well you don’t have money you think you have in JPM either 😁

That’s true

Imo it's like wanting to own some Bitcoin without actually owning some Bitcoin. Small "investors" will regret this once "supply shock" kicks in.

Paper Bitcoin is an IOU. Fiat is an IOU

Someone who’s uneducated about Bitcoin might think that paper Bitcoin > Fiat. But it’s really the same Fiat games

They're both trending to zero vs physical Bitcoin, but one is denominated in Btc.

There's a difference.

It opens the door for more newcomers to #Bitcoin IMO it’s up to the individual to understand the sovereignty as of today the tech hasn’t reached that level of user friendly for certain demographics this opens that door.. Not just individuals but companies as well it’s all good for Bitcoin IMO especially right before the Halving and US campaign year everything is lining up for a crazy big bull run again this is my opinion..

In the short term, maybe but all the money invested in this ETF is essentially dead and captured by Blackrock and They don’t own #bitcoin, they only own an IOU that can and will be confiscated by the government

If that’s the known case after due diligence who would risk the funds! It didn’t take me long maybe a week of dealing with exchanges to remove my funds off chain to cold storage.. the best part of Bitcoin is all the ways we can use it today Bitcoin standard lifestyle and the possibilities in the future.. doesn’t take long to see once you go down the rabbit hole hopefully this Blackrock BS brings more people down that same hole
