Yeh that generation worked out to get out of poverty then are confused why all their grandchildren want to work on the farm years later. Haha

One of the reasons my grandfather would hunt. He wasn’t doing it for sport, he did it because he didn’t have money to buy meat. He also enjoyed and did it for spiritual reasons.

Given the price of food now we may have to do the same soon 😆

Much cheaper to fill my freezer in the fall 😜

I loved when I worked with a guy who was a deer hunter. He shared the wealth.

This is the way I was taught by my grandfather too. He used to say, “You can’t expect people to be free, without the necessities of life taken care of. This is why we share what extra we have. I would rather have a neighbour who is a free man and well fed, than one who is starving and in a cage.”

He didn’t have much, but what he had he shared.

I think farmers were probably the most humble people. They work all day and all year to support their family, neighbours, friends and community. Self less life.

Btw if you’re ever in triage in an ER and they ask what you do, they’re trying to ascertain if you’re a farmer. If a farmer enters an ER it’s a real emergency.
