Reminder: if youโ€™re not completely jaded by the state of the surveillance state, you can politely tell TSA youโ€™d donโ€™t wish to have your photo taken.

Conflict averse? Say something like โ€œIโ€™d prefer to not take a photo if that is an option.โ€

This kind of stuff only becomes normalized if we let it.

Does it work? When did they start taking pictures? I haven't travelled internationally recently.

This was domestic travel within the US :( Yes, it works, they just make you stand to the side of the camera. This is when they check your ID and boarding pass at the start of security.

Good to know. Every time I come back to the US, its a new level of stomach churning horror.

I wasnโ€™t expecting it and just caved the one time I ran into it. Is it pointless to say no going forward now that Iโ€™m in the system you think?
