Going off the README, you can also use any extension (not just Alby, which they recommend for ease of use for both users and devs) or browser with WebLN support.

Problem being with that, is the fact not too many WebLN-native browsers exist; the ones that do are either niche and purpose-built to NOT be a general browser, or are abandonware.

Alby is just far out ahead of everyone else in the wallet sector. Their browser plugin has no real competition thanks to their keysend innovation, and their API for mobile/web app integration is currently an easier option than Breez SDK or the Zebedee wallets.

The plugin does support legacy webln browsers like blixt or bluewallet, but without keysend or budgets the user experience is sub par.

Until the others catch up, Alby is the only real choice. Once they do catch up I look forward to adding support in the plugin.
