I’m putting together a list of Lightning wallets to recommend to customers who visit nostr:npub1key55ax33gkl50uqemvl4khrtqrhzm7wzpc7fhseutt5ddkcwcrqgxlt3h and want to learn how to buy a beer at the bar. ⚡️🍺
Requirement 1: It needs to be easy to set up for someone with minimal bitcoin knowledge, or has experience with crypto but never used Lightning before
Requirement 2: It needs to work without a VPN in New York (and the US in general) – this means NO Strike, Cash App, ZBD, Primal, Phoenix, WoS, etc.
This is a surprisingly hard list to write.

Alby has changed since you first made this Darth
I know... I am preparing a new guide about Alby.
Looking forward to this!
Nicely written. I’m running two instances of Alby Hub, one on my Umbrel node and one on Alby Cloud, but I want to move the cloud version to my own Apache/Linux web server. Do you think that would be an easy migration?
Yes, just follow the instructions from their github
https://github.com/getAlby/hub?tab=readme-ov-file#self-hosted
If you want to keep the same LN address you have in Alby cloud, you better un-link it first from the cloud and re-link it with your self-hosted hub. Or just start a new standalone account.
