Yeah correct. Did you read „Meditations“ or „The Daily Stoic“ by Ryan Holiday?

Both.

I first stumbled onto Marcus Aurelius as a Stoic in Donald Robertson's work Stoicism and the Art of Happiness, then devoured Ryan Holiday's books, then finally went to the source material itself, Meditations. I feel that it helps to have a modern translation though, or its a slog.

So many good quotes. My paper copy is one giant highlight

😂 I know what you mean. Really good content and helpful for everyday life. I started The Daily Stoic this summer, part of my morning routine now. ✌🏻

Some people soothe themselves in times of crisis with the Bible, I pull out Marcus Aurelius.

Have you read Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning? Not stoicism technically, but very much a modern existential version of stoicism. I highly recommend it. He founded an entire school of psychology on stoic ideas.

No. Will check it out though. Thanks a lot!
