Because there is no algorithm, people repost and "boost" their own posts. The feed is constant and some people are on in the morning, and others in the evening. If you don't do it right, nobody sees anything. There are things you can do to make your posts more visible like using hashtags. People that follow you will see your stuff, and vice versa. People push their own posts because there is no algorithm driving your content to anyone.. they seek it out, or you push it.

The repost is the disease of #nostr… and works well too.

I use Primal and half the time Guy Swan shares something I see it four to eight times in my feed. If I refresh the page, it goes back to one. It will even tell me I have eight new notes when it happens.

One other person I follow I get the same thing, I don't recall who though. Makes me think it's an issue on primal as the if I'm on Ditto.pub I don't see it. But again, in my case if I refresh the page, it clears up.

I'm not an expert but I kinda thought it was because Primal was fetching my latest feeds from multiple nodes, thus multiple repeated posts with each fetch. Whatever it is, it's above my paygrade and I'm sure someone will address it at some point.

Have you tried experimenting with other clients? I use Amethyst for android and it's a great experience. I hear Damus is great for iPhone users.

IIUC the protocol posts to multiple relays and some clients don't de-duplicate when downloading from multiple relays.
