I wrote up an essay about the social dynamics of new online communities and how they feel like a utopia when they’re first created.

It’s in my feed here, but as a long form markdown post, so I’m linking to it on tabla because I think #[0] is the only app displaying both short and long form posts in the feed so far.

Au plaisir de le lire . Merci

This is a very interesting read and a lot of depth in it.

Why do you think Nostr still has the utopia feeling?

I have my thoughts on this as I’m sure others do.

You are like that guy at the commune who already lived at a few other communes that fell apart in the past because the free love got a little too free or there was no delineation of responsibilities and says, " I admire your enthusiasm kid but that ain't gonna work. But we can still figure this out and find a better way to live together and create a better future." 🙏

How do you see conflict resolution working on Nostr?

It can only go two ways:

Bickering or blocking.

Nice read!

“Facebook a community hall rented for a retirement party”. Got a lol from me.

What is the threshold for "long form"?
