Many people are confusing Cashu with Fedimint.

Any folks out there who also confuse Fedimint with Cashu? 👋

We are friendly colleagues!

They are two different Bitcoin ecash projects with different goals and approaches. It's better for everyone to have more options.

True :)

I like your multimint approach, I always thought we'd end up with eCash working like that.

Single rugger vs federation of ruggers 😂

Hahahah followed!

This is the summary 🤙

Cashu is, AFAIK, the only chaumian ecash implementation that is “live” on bitcoin/lightning. Fedi (the for-profit entity working on the FOSS Fedimint protocol) says they’ll ship something this quarter sometime.

Cashu, being live, lets us play with chaumian ecash on bitcoin. It gets me more excited about chaumian ecash than just talking about something that might come…

I've been using the Fluttermint client half a year ago on mainnet, cashu came later.

I don't know what came before but I just checked my calendar and and I can say for certain that I coded up the first Cashu version between Sept. 9-11.

Since then, we're live on mainnet 🤙

Fluttermint was there for HCPP22, that was first October weekend, so it seems that cashu was first on mainnet after all.

Reckless!
