In Seattle they're stretched so thin that they make the firefighters do all the basic medic shit. So anytime we see firetrucks, there's never a fire, it's just another junkie overdosing on fentanyl.

In my year of work on the boo-boo bus, I think I worked 4 or 5 people that were actually having an emergency, got jaded pretty fast
Many people do. Especially in non-profits outreach for assisting houseless & addicts populations.
It’s not something everyone can handle. I’ve thought many times there should be a rotation system but that would require stable volunteers.
Personally, some receive little assistance too. Example: maybe a little government assistance during COVID outbreak. 😷 Maybe give small businesses or non-profits some of that money instead of big corporations. Heart crushing but we go on. 💜
