I think this is Zantedeschia aethiopica , the calla lilly. It randomly popped up in my garden, I never planted it. Supposedly it’s native to South Africa (zone 8usda), yet I’m in South Carolina, US (zone 7usda). It seems to be a tropical plant so it’s odd it popped up here

Thought this was really interesting, never had something like this happen I don’t think

Very pretty.

Oh I miss calla lilies! We used to grow them when I was growing up in Southern California.

I’ve never heard of them before. Isn’t it odd it just appeared so randomly? Maybe it’s leftover from colonists years ago? I’ve seen daffodils and iris’s still growing after hundreds of years

It is strange, maybe someone grows them nearby? Or it has been dormant in the ground, soil holds seeds dormant for a long time. At least it's a beautiful flower and technically edible once cooked, just not supposed to be that tasty.

If it produces seed or can be otherwise replicated, it could be a sales opportunity if you produce a cold hardy calla lily, especially one as beautiful as that one.

It freezes here & this one just popped up so I assume it is cold hardy

It could be worth trying to create a new strain. It might be a fluke and not work, but it seems like it could be worth the effort.
