I haven't even listened to the specifics of Ian's video but his opening statement on how a good theory answers all known facts is very well said.

"When we try to give an explanation for what we see in the world...every little thing about it has to be explained by your thesis. If there's something that's not explained by it, then your thesis might be wrong, because the real explanation for what's really going on explains everything that's going on and if there's something off, you should look at that."

There are holes in just about everyone's 'personal theory of everything'. Most people don't pursue resolution to the cognitive dissonance they carry, and what's worse is that those same people project their modus operandi onto those of us who actually do seek to resolve our cognitive dissonance because that kind of projection is an effective ego defense mechanism for those lacking in self-honesty.

Zaps still not going through. Have you set wallet up on primal?

I looked at the Primal wallet but it wants me to submit KYC style information. Perhaps I'm misreading that but that's what I'm seeing and I'm not into it.

I'm working on figuring out how I can accept zaps without bending the knee to KYC by instead using my own node.

The problem is that usually the people that are good at coding and teaching usually aren't teaching and if they are, most likely they're not teaching it for free or even cheap.

That means it's up to the devs to build bridges for normies to be able to use their creations, but devs don't usually do a very good job of doing test groups with normies to make sure they've got instructions that are normie-proof. Normie-proofing setup for devs is a Herculean exercise in masochism. They often find it torturous to deal with most people most especially normies.

I agree and you are an educator (based on listening). Even got my husband to learn a bit about geomagnetic excursion on your podcast with nostr:npub1hghnjjpnvkz8t6gkszuf37d7puwc2qtxc65rnklqsngzv6kkug9qhhfyz2 but had him trapped in car🤣. Now we’re drawing on limes to visualize the unimaginable! Understand the KYC thing. I used coinos as well as primal but am pretty ignorant still.

I am making some progress bit by bit. If I can get set up with Alby Hub and my own lightning node I think I can bypass the KYC nonsense in perhaps somewhat circuitous ways. The "plumbing" construction analogy is rather apropos. Takes time to build the pipes but once they're built, it sure is convenient.
