Creating a local mesh Nostr seems like a possibility, but that's basically accomplished by channels already. Wouldn't anything that is going to be gegraphicaly widespread end up requiring the internet to connected meshes?
I am thinking about how a garden’s Meshtastic node’s sensors report via Nostr notes for when you are away, etc
