when I was in my shop class, I had a guy who raised show cattle and hadn't taken a day off in all 27(?) years he worked there

they got him to stay 2 years after he'd wanted to retire so that year he decided to take all his days off that he possibly could and we made "the most creative piece of dick art [he'd] ever seen" and he stuck it up on the board until an admin got annoyed with him -- little steel man made from scrap with a cock and balls made from a bolt and nuts lol

aside from that, we cut 2x4s with hand saws for the first term and then welded for the second; next year we had a different guy and we would spend hours upon hours practicing welding (and screwing around), at least I got pretty damn good and also certified for my hours of boredom
