I love that our church has an Advent concert, where they sing songs of anticipation, and play "quiet" instruments like recorders, table harps, and acoustic guitars.

And then we all go out into the cold, dark, church courtyard, where they have log fires and grilled steak sandwiches and mulled wine.

That sounds awesome!

Will you be able to attend the #parentstr meetup Christmas eve? I myself can't make it, but it should be even better. The RCMP might even make an appearance.

'Tis! Advent is a time of hopeful waiting and reflection and relaxing. It's called the Quiet/Still Time ("Staade Zeit"), and we do a bit of shopping at open-air markets and chilling, but there's no commercial frenzy.

The Christmas trees stay outside until Christmas Eve, when we bring them in and turn the lights on, after dinner. The men do that, in a different room, while the women keep the little children occupied, elsewhere, and the Christkind brings the presents and puts them under the tree. Then the Christkind mysteriously rings a bell, and the men rush in, to tell the children that the Christkind *just left*, and then they walk in and see the tree and the presents and the plate of cookies that the Christkind was too busy to eat and are like wow 👀

Ours does something similar! We do a Lessons and Carols every year. I'm going to advocate we incorporate more steaks into ours though 🥩

We also go caroling. In fact, we are going out today.

The choir is fantastic, thabks for sharing. Your church looks marvelous, too. Maybe on a bitcoin standard we will construct worship spaces like that again.

We are singing Es ist ein Ros entsprungen at our L&C this year.

I like that

Sounds nice

This isn't Advent music, but same vibe. From St. Hildegard, a favorite of mine, and a (female) doctor of the Church.
