63

14 + ( 7 × 7 ) = 63 people

This is the most likely answer under normal circumstances.

Well, it doesn't say 'birth', so they have them without specifying where they came from. So everywhere In the range [49,49+49] or am I making some kind of silly mistake? (Depending on unknown number of shared children.)

It doesn’t say each. If it did the answer is 399 but it doesn’t say that each man has 7 wives it could just mean there are 7 couples. It could also just mean 7 couples have 7 kids each. I’d say this is just a stupid question because it’s up to how you interpret it and has no correct answer.

You can deduce that each man only has one wife by trying to convince your wife that if you had a child with another woman, that child is hers as well, and see how that goes.

I say 112

Same. Each man and wife combo = 14 ppl. Each man has 7 children, each woman has 7 children thus each couple has 14 children. 14*7 + 14 = 112

I don't know man, but that sounds like pure Proof Of Work :PoW: 🤣

Whoever wrote this question cannot produce sentences in fluent english.

On top of this, I see what looks like a Harvard logo, but everything else is written by hand, with mixed colors, and a random marker used instead of a pen to write the "Q:".

Moreover, what the hell is the meaning of "each man and each wife have 7 children?"

Even if "each" man and "each" wife had 7 children "each", wouldn't they have had them with their corresponding partner, so it's still 7 children "per couple"?

All of this screams bullshit.

we can agree that it’s an ambitious question

It depends if the women are slaves, in that case the answer is 7

63

448

Seems like more of a grammer test than anything.
