1) downloading ebooks to your computer
2) transferring books from computer to Kindle via USB
This is another reminder that you do not own your media when you buy through companies like Amazon.

Lucky me ... I prefer paper books
Why I always prefer paper over digital. BUT torrents will be much more popular thanks to this. There is the entire Kindle collection available at 50+gb numerous places.
I buy paperbacks or hardbacks and backup with ebooks on an external hard drive.
Stop buying Kindles or books from Amazon. Torrent everything. Unless the author sells their books directly from their own site.
Libgen, Anna’s Archive, & Calibre (e-book virtual library) are my favorite go-to applications
